the rustic boho wedding of our dreams

Being part of Vancouver’s bridal industry means that we get to collaborate with amazing individuals that are dedicated to crafting gorgeous wedding days for their brides and grooms. And while we’re often involved in the earlier stages of a bride’s journey, sometimes we get the unique chance to be in the same room with event planners, florists, and hairstylists to create something truly special. Together, we craft intimate, detailed settings that serve as inspiration for couples planning their big day and help put the spotlight on some of our favourite vendors in the city.

Most recently, we took part in a rustic boho-styled shoot that was led by Melissa Ortanez Events — and it was magical. Take a look.

Embodying the rustic nature of Vancouver’s Railtown district, the Settlement Building was the ideal setting for this shoot. It’s unassuming atmosphere was the perfect blank canvas for a ceremony adorned with two impressive bouquets from Dushan Flowers. They were filled with Pampas grass, Protea, dried palm leaves, white ferns, and burgundy amaranthus that stood out against its warm-toned counterparts. The mix of dried and fresh florals made for stunning contrast that draws inspiration from a clearing in the woods. We love the idea of bringing the outdoors in!

The choice of stationary for this rustic boho wedding was sublime. Crafted in Madrid by the GRG team, the invites had gold and burgundy lettering that complemented the off-white paper. Translucent envelopes are a special element for any invite — they give your guests a hint of what’s to come!

The tables for the reception were masterpieces in their own right. Each one had a 12-foot-fall Manzanita centerpiece that created an intimate, covered setting for guests as they sat down. A chocolate suede tablecloth offered the perfect setting for shimmering glassware and candleholders. Each table setting from Pedersen’s sat on a distressed driftwood charger and a bouquet dinner plate. What’s not to love?

Cupcakes, and cookies, and cakes — oh my! In a beautiful corner of rustic wood, weaved baskets, and tufted  pillows, lay the perfect confectionary table filled with treats from Buttermere. The icing on ever treat was stunningly adorned with leaves, florals, and golden flakes, and we’ll be dreaming of those subtle pastel colours for years to come.

Last — but very much not least — we want to gush about the bride. To start off, we couldn’t imagine a rustic bohemian wedding without this beautiful gown from Dalaarna Couture. The understated detail in the embroidered V-neck bodice and the whimsical, full skirt are gorgeous features for a rustic boho setting. With lovely natural makeup and hair choices from the team at Faye Smith Academy as well as gorgeous jewellery details from Jeweliette Shop, she was the shining star of a beautiful shoot.

We say it often, but, we can’t wait to help you choose the gown of your dreams for your wedding day. Whether you’re feeling the rustic boho look, or have something else in mind, we’d love to welcome you at our studio. Click here to book an appointment, and if you have any questions, send us a note!
