Tips For Your Follow Up Appointment

Drop waist, basque waist, minimal and modern sating silk wedding dress.

Tip #1

Feel free to bring whomever you like, but just remember, it’s your opinion that matters most! You’re going to look the best in whatever you FEEL the best in. Only you can know which dress that is.

Tip #2

You’ll get your clearest idea of the dress if you wear similar undergarments to what you’ll wear on the day. We’re partial to a nude short (mostly to avoid the dreaded agony of leg chafing). And, hey, if you know what accessories you might wear, bring them along too!

Tip #3

We’re probably going to measure you today, so it’s best for accuracy if you wear thin clothing that lays close to the body. Leggings are great and try to avoid denim or bras that have any more padding than a regular cup. If you’re comfy being measured without your clothes on, that works too!

Tip #4

You don’t have to pay for the full price of your gown upon ordering! Just a deposit is needed and then the balance and tax when you come for your pickup in a few months.

Tip #5

Don’t worry about sizing if you have plans to lose weight before your wedding (and you definitely don’t need to! We’re in our body neutrality era). We are ordering your closest size on the designer’s size chart and every gown will need to go to tailoring to get hemmed and have those little adjustments made anyway. Even if you lose a little bit of weight (or gain a tiny bit of weight) this is unlikely to change the dress size we’d order. If it is a bit too big when it arrives, this shouldn’t be difficult to take in with tailoring. If you’re worried about anything, just ask!

Tip #6

Consider if your favourite dress suits your vision for your big day, as is. What we mean by that is little things can be changed, add a strap here, lower a neckline there, remove a tulle layer, but the basic construction of a gown can sometimes be difficult to alter. If it’s a slip style gown, it probably won’t hug your waist even after tailoring. If it’s a fit and flare gown, it may not be possible to make it tea length. If you have any concerns, just ask!

Tip #7

Don’t stress! You are welcome to come back for another look if you need! We got you, indecisive girlies.

Tip #8

This is a big wedding decision you are checking off. You deserve a treat after! We suggest ice cream or margaritas.
